today is my best friend’s birthday. we’ve known each other for over half of our lives. she’s the brunette to my blonde, the prep to my punk, the reason to my whimsy. granted you can’t see how beautiful she is in this photo but when i came across it recently, it just summed us up. i could have posted some really funny shots of our years but i wouldn’t do that to her. she’s a mom now. i have to be careful. (wink wink)

i am lucky i’ve found a few amazing best friends. i am honored they are part of my life. take a look, they are all gorgeous and sweet as pie. and, hilarious. really…. hilarious.

christine created one of my favorite fashion blogs, mystylepill.com. i visit the site first thing every morning. what i love about her style (both the blog and fashion sense) is that it isn’t overdone. the blog is hers, grass roots style. photos (sometimes a bit blurry) taken by herself or “A”… a friend? beau? the clothes styled by her. The make-up applied by her. The clothes- hers. i find it disheartening to read a personal style blog that is inudated with “gifted” clothing, professionally applied make-up and salon tousled hair. personal style blogs are to me supposed to be just that.. done personally and christine’s is. and it is simply chic. to top it all of off – she is cute-as-a-button-girl-next-door hotness.

‘member when i said, “i’ll do outfit posts” or “three times a week, i’ll post fashion pieces”… well,it’s a lost cause. my day-to -day operations have me up at 6am to the trainer (rose @ equinox is amazing!), subway by 730am (the G train is NOT amazing), on the phone with clients by 8am. i barely have time to wash my hair – many days i don’t! in fact, i live in the same current elliot jeans, burnout t-shirt, and all saints trainers most saturdays & sundays. during the week, i am so busy with clients (demanding celebrity and socialite clients!!) i don’t have time to pose in front of a catchy cafe sign or pretending to smell a flower. so….. i will just keep blogging about the cool stuff i want to buy, the cool stuff you want to buy, and the OCCASSIONAL note-worthy outfit i wear – but ONLY ON THE DAYS I WASH MY HAIR.

so where the ‘f’ have i been? why have i not picked up on gwyneth’s effortlessly cool style? she truly is the epitome of rock & roll chic. she comes no where near the line aging rocker chicks teeter on. she is just perfect. at times, her style is a bit safe for my taste but i’d say 99% of the time, she nails it.
