last week my husband and i traveled to sxsw as part of the production team for the kanye west concert at the seaholm power plant. i’ve worked behind the scenes on many concerts with my husband but this one really was amazing. the work is always hard and sometimes strangely demanding (ie, searching for kanye’s assistants shoes or trying to explain to the p.a.’s why towels for bands on stage need to be prewashed…)

but sitting side stage with all the amazing performers (and other artists like beyonce and jay-z) is so fun – don’t let anyone in the business tell you different!

while we did spend 10 days getting ready for the kanye west show and I pretty much lived in the production trailer, we snuck out a few nights to catch some rock shows – my FAVORITE being Queens of the Stone Age! those guys are incredible musicians. the sweet got sweeter when we chatted up Duff McKagan and Jack White backstage before the show. these are the times i really appreciate my husband is in the business.
